Remote control.

When shooting from a tripod and in some other cases remote control can improve your shoots. For this purpose you can buy a Canon RS-60E3, or construct its rough equivalent in about 30 minutes.

For this project you will need:

  1. a piece of a 3-whire cable (the best solution is to use a cable from a broken mouse - it is long and flexible enough);
  2. a stereo-type small jack (slightly smaller than used in a Walkman);
  3. a 3-contact button.

The device works as follows. Shorting of the edge contacts (1 and 2) is equivalent to half-pressing the shutter release button on camera body - it will do all automatic functions according to the desired programm. After connecting the third wire (3) to these two the camera will fire. In "B" mode the shutter will open after connecting the third wire and close after disconnecting them.объекте.

How to get an unexpensive CR-123A equivalent

В камере EOS 500n и аналогичных применяются довольно дорогие литиевые батареи CR-123A (DL-123A) напряжением 3 Вольта каждая. В то же время элемент CR-223A (DL-223A) напряжением 6 Вольт, стоящий почти в два раза дешевле, состоит из 2 полностью аналогичных элементов, соединенных пластмассовым корпусом. Извлечь элементы можно сломав этот корпус пополам (проверено на батареях Kodak Photolife).
